Autumn Again ...

It's that time of year again, folks. The leaves are just beginning to blush crimson on the trees in our yard, and the stores are stocking aisles of Costco-sized bags of candy and sock monkey costumes. Our school routine is starting to feel semi-normal again, and we are enjoying the not-so-humid early days of September. College football (Go Big Red!) is on TV again, so Nate is keeping me "entertained" with stats, schedules, and predictions for the season. The cooler weather finds me baking again, now that I can comfortably have the oven on. So far this week the kids and I have turned out pumpkin muffins, peanut butter cookies, and a scrumptious, whole grain chocolate cake.

This week we were finally able to turn the air conditioner off. We open all of the windows in the morning and enjoy a nice, cool breeze all day long. I love this chance to air out the house after it has been bottled up all summer. Knowing that soon it will be frigid and we will have to close the windows up tight again makes me really appreciate how awesome it is to have fresh air circulating.

Now, enough about us. What is YOUR favorite part of fall?
